The Feast O' Daphnaie

The Feast o’ Daphnaie is dinner theatre experience taking place in the magic, whimsical world of the dryads, inspired by the Greek spirits of the trees; the show will explore the flow of the seasons, the treachery of the horrid Pollutants—showing the consequences of industrialization, and the power of unity

The experience is called “The Feast o’ Daphnaie” as a nod to the Greek dryads of the laurel trees. The name can also be a considered a reference to the myth of Daphne and Apollo, which features a nymph was turned into a tree by Gaia.

This experience is an enchanting and mystical new play on the classic dinner theatre; Combining the delights of plant based Mediterranean cuisine, the magic of Cirque Du Soleil-type acrobatic storytelling, modern/contemporary dance, and the natural world.

This spectacle, sparking a sense of whimsy, appreciation and empowerment, will teach guests that now is the time to appreciate the beauty of the natural world before it slips through our fingers forever and the power of unity, is one that will live on in the hearts of guests.

I brought this concept for immersive dinner theatre through the blue sky ideation process, storyboards, and have now hand-created a scale model of the show floor. This model, done in 1/4" = 1'-0" scale, features various different medias, including papercraft, sculpting, 3D printed elements and even lights! I enjoyed working with the same concept for so long, and I wish to add to it more in my free time!
